Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman/Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of general repair, maintenance, and upkeep tasks for our Houseboats. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented problem-solver with a broad knowledge of maintenance procedures, strong technical skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Hours and Pay: During season (April to October) Position will be 40 + hours a week 7 days a week with scheduled days off. Pay will be based on experience. Off season ( November to April) is M-F 35 to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to and complete maintenance and repair requests from management.

  • Perform general repair duties, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.

  • Install and repair fixtures, appliances, and hardware, such as light fixtures, faucets, and door locks.

  • Use and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Assist with the assembly and moving of furniture, equipment, and other items as needed.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed and materials used.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and management regarding project status and needs.

  • Handle emergency maintenance calls as part of an on-call rotation, if required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in a maintenance, construction, or similar role.

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic to solid understanding of general maintenance procedures, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

  • Tools: Proficiency with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and tight spaces.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

  • Dependability: A strong work ethic with reliability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Licensing: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
